Portfolio information notice
Independent concepts, design scope, supplied information and the limits of the local enquiry route.
1. The role of this design information
Cartographic illustration makes a place legible through selection, scale, hierarchy and symbols. The studies here demonstrate those visual choices in imaginary settings. They are not surveys, live geographic records or route instructions for a real journey. A polished diagram cannot establish where an actual entrance is located or whether a route is open, accessible or safe. Treat the images as design examples and establish the necessary site information and review responsibilities before adapting the approach to a real place.
2. The status of the featured work
The three featured studies are original independent concepts. Rivage explores a riverwalk diagram; Common Ground concerns a fictional shared site; District Index tests a neighbourhood legend and label system. No venue, transport operator or public authority commissioned or endorsed those examples. Distances, labels and directional marks are illustrative rather than verified observations. Their appearance in a portfolio should not be interpreted as customer proof or as evidence that the represented facilities exist. Keep the concept label when referring others to a study.
3. Reviews needed beyond visual design
Wayfinding for an operational setting can involve accessibility, emergency arrangements, naming approvals and local requirements. This portfolio does not certify compliance with those matters or replace qualified site review. A visual designer’s role and any specialist responsibilities should be written into the actual brief. In particular, a fictional route graphic cannot support evacuation, security or access decisions. Confirm which facts are approved, who will test the final application and how changes in the place will be communicated before anyone relies on a commissioned output.
4. What the images and source files mean
The maps and typographic diagrams were drawn for this collection rather than photographed from a completed installation. They show complete compositions at their original proportions; a visible symbol or mark is part of the artwork rather than an interactive navigation control. Images may be referred to when discussing a direction, but viewing them does not grant a right to reproduce them commercially. Ask about the intended use and required permissions before adapting a concept, icon system or drawing for an actual organisation.
5. External services have separate roles
Email applications, software and external destinations operate under their own terms and capabilities. Check the actual provider and address before supplying information, relying on a service or accepting another arrangement. Hosting and delivery providers are not presented as clients, endorsers or suppliers of the professional design work. A mention of a production tool or output format does not create an account connection. The website cannot guarantee the availability or behaviour of a service operated by someone else.
6. Commitments and questions in context
No audience response, sales improvement, project acceptance or other business outcome is promised by the portfolio. The usefulness of real cartographic illustration and wayfinding graphic design depends on the brief, accurate inputs, review and implementation in its intended setting. Use [email protected] to identify a study or a question about its proposed scope, and read the terms, privacy and cancellation notices with any actual agreement. This explanation does not override an explicit commitment, excuse a factual misrepresentation or remove a responsibility or remedy that applicable law preserves.
